I’m Akash Ramasani. I build backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and LLM-powered products end-to-end.

I’m a software engineer with 5+ years of experience shipping production systems. I like owning a problem from the database schema to the deploy pipeline, and I build daily with AI-assisted tools like Claude Code and Cursor.

Today I’m the sole engineer at Runn Technologies, rebuilding an AI-assisted advertising platform in TypeScript: eight services spanning a Fastify API with 200+ routes, a Temporal worker running 14 workflows, an MCP server, and Next.js customer, admin, and marketing apps, backed by 1,300+ automated tests. I built the LLM pipeline on the Anthropic and OpenAI APIs that reads a customer’s website, drafts ad copy, and launches a Google Ads campaign; Stripe billing end-to-end; a first-party authentication system that replaced Auth0; and the GitHub Actions to AWS App Runner deployment path. Along the way I cut monthly AWS spend by 52%. The platform serves 1,200+ customers and has launched 3,000+ campaigns managing $500K+ in ad spend.

Before Runn I was a Senior Software Engineer at Compass Group, where I shipped LLM-powered automation on the OpenAI API with MCP-based tooling, led a zero-downtime DB2 to PostgreSQL migration, and built Spring Boot APIs handling millions of daily transactions. At Oracle I engineered Python services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, moved legacy modules into containerized microservices, automated deployments with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, and kept 99.9% uptime with Prometheus and Grafana.

I started at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, where I engineered a reporting platform used by 5,000+ scientists and in Indian Parliament reporting workflows, cutting report generation from hours to seconds, and built computer-vision pipelines that classify rice crops from satellite imagery at 96 to 97% accuracy.

Outside work I maintain JobWatch, an open-source job-tracking platform with a Claude-powered agent and MCP server, and run a three-node Kubernetes homelab. I hold an M.S. in Computer Science from California State University, East Bay and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from KL University.
